Sahyadri Heritage Development Authority

Purpose;

 

 

  • Cultural, natural and historically, Shimoga, Uttara Kannada and Chikmagalur districts have played a significant role in Karnataka. These three districts are located in the foothills of the Sahyadri range. Kadamba, Hoysala and the lower king's ancestors originated in this pulse. In addition, many vassals and palaces have also contributed to the pulse. It is also socially recognized as the land of surrender. Allamaprabhu, Akkamahadevi and dancer Shantale was born in Shikaripura taluk. There is Akkanagamma's cerotaph (Gadduge) in Tarikere. Kandadri Hill in the Tirthahalli taluk is the site of Jaina Muni Kundakundacharya. While Shikaripur is recognized as the home of Sharanas, the religious places are Sringeri, Shirazi, Hombuja and Bananahoon.

 

 

  • Malnadu is recognized as one of the 20 biological centers in the world. Many rivers originate here and are the lifeblood of the country. There are river Sharavathi and Kali which provide electricity. There are Bhadra and Tunga reservoirs that provide irrigation. In addition there are many natural sites. The region is famous for its exotic rain forest and attracts tourists from abroad.

 

 

  • Hegodinai Ninasam (Neelakantheshwara Natya Sangh) and Kuppalli Kuvempu Foundations have been working for the last several decades, shaping the cultural life of the region and attracting people from abroad.

 

  • Knowledge of the built heritage and natural and cultural heritage of these three districts is necessary and informed to the public.

 

Scope;

 

 

  • The remaining temples are as follows, except for the preserved monuments in these three districts.

 

  • Shimoga District: Beguru Ishwara Temple, Hiremagadi Ishwara Temple, Hanche Temple, Someshwaramada Temple (Kumadwati Temple), Veerabhadra Temple, Pura Someshwara Temple, Kallur Ishwara Temple, Amnavaswam , Nadakalasi Bileshwara Temple, Talgadde Temple, Mathur, Mawali, Muttalli and Gosasa sculptures in Sunda, Nilaskallu, and Nilas stones of Baisay. Champakasaurus Pushkarni near Anandpur.

 

 

  • Chikmagalur District: khandya Markandeshwar Temple, muttinapura Prasanna Virupaksha Temple, ahlan laundering Narayan and Mallikarjuna Temple, isvarahalli Laxminarayan Temple, muttavara Parshvanath basadi, Chikmagalur sagina mosque, hampapura Virupaksha and Basaveshvara Temple, somapura prasanna Someshwar Temple, Mudigere singhesvara, Laxminarayan and the Rameshwar Temple The Nandi Siddarameshwara Temple, the Garje Kaleshwara Temple, the Mangur Parshwanath Basadi, the Kalleshwar Temple, the Kigga Rishyasringeshwara Temple, the Jayapura Lokeshwar and the Channakeshava Temple.

 

 

  • Uttara Kannada District: Gardens near Adavi Madhukeshwara Temple, Banavasi, Kumata Parshwanatha Kaykini parswanatha basadi, Bhatkala Ratnatraya Basadi, Bhatkala Banda Basadi (Jettappanayaka's Basadi) Someshwar Temple, Someshwara Temple, Pearls Lake Venkataramana Temple, Bagadde Lakshminarayana Temple, Bedasgaon Boppeshwara Temple, Badalkoppa Mahanthinna Math, Oakkala Satyanatha Temple, Karuvar Veerashadra Temple, Karur.

 

  • In the Budget Speech for 2010-11, the Hon'ble Chief Ministers created and ordered “Sahyadri Traditional Development Authority” (Government Order No: Kasavanapra 145 KMU 2009 Bangalore, Date: 28.10.2010) for the development of heritage areas in Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Uttara Kannada Districts.

 

 

  • Government Order No. 29 of 2011, Bangalore, dated: 28.04.2012, approved by the Hon. And Government Order No: Kasavanapra 106 KMU 2012, Bangalore Notification issued with effect from 21.05.2012.

 

 

  • Currently the office is working in Shimoga.
