Lakkundi Heritage Area Development Authority

Purpose & Scope

 

 

  • Lakkundi, which is mentioned in the inscription as Lokkigundi, is the home of Dharma time. Athimabbe, the capital of the Chalukya dynasty and the patron saint of Kannada literature The Chalukyas, the Kalachuris, the Sevans and the Hoysalas made many contributions to the cultural heritage during their rule. The ruins of the historical monuments in and around the Lakkundi region with such historical heritage, ancient temples such as Someshwara Temple, Jain Basadi, Brahma Jinayala, Kumbareshwara Temple, Manikeshwara Temple, Muskeenbhavi, Naganavara Temple, Nageshwara Temple, Nageshwara Temple, Nageshwara, , Lakkad Veeranna, Ishwara, Kalmeshwara, Halagundi Basavanna, Virupaksha, Mallikarjuna, Veerabhadra, Chandramauleshwara Temples, Fakirswami Math, Shivappa Math, Fort Door, Fort Indoor Gate, Patrabavi, Mallubawi, Kannabavi, Kannabavi, Mallubawi, Kannur Outside the Chowkiwavi Fort, there are more than 40 archaeological monuments, such as the Koteshwara Temple, which contains more than 16 flowers.

 

 

  • Traditions such as cultural and traditional rituals such as Rath Yatra, Veerabhadra Devi Yatra, Sante, Craft Mela, etc., can be seen in the social and religious coordination of the people. Wreath weaving, floral decoration and rangoli painting are also popular. Home industries such as pottery, saree weaving, Ambasi panche weaving and mat counting, folk art, traditional farming practices, gardening and local rituals have been an integral part of the heritage. The objective of the Lakkundi Heritage Area Development Authority is to develop traditional traces of such historical events and preserve them from extinction.

 

 

  • There are 44 State Protected Monuments and 14 Central Protected Monuments in Gadag District. There are also thousands of unannounced memorials.

 

 

  • “Lakkundi Heritage Area Development Authority” has been created and mandated in the Budget Declaration 2017-18.

 

 

  • Government Order No: Article 6820 of Bengaluru, Bangalore, dated: 22.10.2020 approved by Act. And Government Order No: TOR / 91 / TDA / 2020, Bangalore Notification issued with effect from 22.12.2020.
